Askham Bryan College is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
We currently have an opportunity available for a Lecturer in Arboriculture. Acting as a Course Manager and contributing to the programmes within the Section, you will be responsible for the running of the courses offered at the Centre and contribute fully to the promotion, and continued success, of the College and its centres.
You will be required to contribute to the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment for Arboriculture programmes, planning and supervising the learning experience of our students and taking responsibility for supervising the behaviour and discipline of groups of learners.
Educated to Degree level in Arboriculture or related subject area, you will ideally hold Certificates of Competence (Chainsaw and Aerial Tree work) along with an appropriate teaching qualification. LANTRA / NPTC Assessor Qualifications and a BSc level qualification, or a willingness to work towards this, are desirable.
You must have substantial experience of working within the Arboriculture industry, practical arboriculture and tree work / management skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of customers and clients. Good IT skills are also required.
