Our client is a north London Borough tree section. They manage all the council's trees including housing which was recently brought back within the borough's direct control. They currently have a vacancy for a Tree Surveyor to assist with the housing tree stock. This would involve scheduled and ad-hoc tree inspections using VTA, specifying work and monitoring the council's contractors.
To start in July 2015 this would initially be a 12 week assignment that may be extended. The rate of pay is 15PH PAYE or 18.65PH Ltd company contractor. The requirements for the role are as follows:
1. Good Tree identification including Latin and Common names.
2. Holding a level 3 Arboricultural qualification or working towards but not essential
2. Good Tree Knowledge
3. Capable of sourcing information on the internet and or reference books i.e. IT confident/research experience
4. IT skills i.e. Word, Excel, Photo transfer and editing.
5. Bespoke Tree Data Base experience i.e.EZYTREEV or similar system experience would be desirable, Training will be given in the EZYTREEV system.
6. Mobile i.e. Driving License.
7. Knowledge of the borough would be useful.
8. Good public communication skills - likely be approached during the surveying side.
9. Qualified in condition monitoring or Visual Tree Assessment desirably to level 3 or to be able to demonstrate working towards.
10. Good phone manner.
11.Experience in processing work orders/specifications to contractors.
12. Experience in monitoring contractors work.
13. Experience in budget monitoring.
14. Experience in Arboricultural legislation.
15. Experience in Tree Pests and Diseases.
16. Good Team Player.
