Our client is a large national green services contractor providing a full range of integrated landscape solutions to large commercial and public sector clients throughout the UK. This includes grounds maintenance, landscape construction and arboriculture. Established in the 1970s, the company has grown substantially since 2005 as a result of three large acquisitions and a policy of aggressive tendering. Turnover is now nearly 50m and the company plans to continue this expansion and become the leading provider of green services in the UK.
As a major player in the Rail sector our client has asked us to assist in sourcing high quality managerial staff to facilitate their continued expansion in the market. They currently have a Rail Site Manager position available in the Wessex area (covering Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire)
The Rail Site Manager will work to deliver vegetation management contracts for Network Rail. Duties will include:
Survey of sites to evaluate vegetation clearance work required
Managing safe systems of work and resource requirements to ensure work is completed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner
This list is not exhaustive, duties may vary over time. Some of the work involved may require staying away from home location as determined by specific contract requirements. Work will include some unsocial hours working (nights and weekends) for which additional payments are made.
Candidates must have commercial arboriculture experience in a position of some responsibility; for example as a foreman/supervisor, junior manager or in a self-employed capacity. The ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff and company management is essential as are good IT skills. A full Job Description and Person Specification is available from our office.
