Role and Responsibilities
The Arboricultural Surveyor will work within the Arboricultural Consultancy team and alongside the wider GC Design team in delivering first rate professional consultancy service to all of Ground Controls Clients. The successful candidate will take responsibility for own actions and ensure work is completed to the highest possible standard in terms of delivery, accuracy, quality, customer service, safety and profitability. The role requires staying away from home, lone working with the opportunity of working around the UK.
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing a range of tree surveying types to include: Health & Safety Tree Condition Surveys and BS 5837 Trees in relation of construction surveys.
Operating tree data & management software programmes such as WoodPlan (training provided to the successful candidate).
Delivering comprehensive Arboricultural reports within tight timeframes to meet the Clients requirements in accordance with our service provisions.
Fee quote preparation and management of cost control.
Price and manage the delivery of high quality tree surgery works.
Participate in marketing and developing the Arboricultural services offered to new and existing clients.
Requirements:
The candidate will ideally have some, but not necessarily all, of the following:
Minimum Level 2 qualification in Arboriculture, ideally Level 4 or 6
Professional Tree Inspector certificate
Hold a Full & clean UK driving license
Excellent tree identification skills & current knowledge of industry best practice
Possess practical tree surgery experience and be able to apply this knowledge to competitive pricing and coordinating tree surgery operations.
Working knowledge of the planning system in relation to trees & BS5837 Trees in relation of construction
Strong IT skills including MS Office, General database systems & Tree Management Software
Sound written & verbal communication skills, including report writing
Practical knowledge of undertaking risk assessment using QTRA or THREATS
Ability to undertake Aerial Tree Inspections
