Our client is an inner London borough with a strong reputation for progressive Tree Management by an active arboricultural team. The borough has a large Georgian and Victorian housing stock and was ranked as inner London's 'greenest borough' and London Transport's 'best bike borough 2006'. There are 62 parks and open spaces, covering 815 acres.
The council are currently looking to employ a Tree Officer for three months to join their arboricultural team who manage trees on highways and in parks. This role will involve surveying and specifying works on a programmed and ad-hoc basis, managing and monitoring arboricultural contractors and liaising with the public. There will also be a requirement to provide advice or guidance to other council officers on tree related matters, possibly in the form of reports.
Candidates should hold an arboricultural qualification to level 3 and ideally have previous technical experience in managing or surveying trees. The ability to communicate effectively with all tree stake holders is also important.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious arboriculturalist looking to strengthen their CV and put themselves in pole position for a permanent role at the council. In return they are offering 15.37 P/H PAYE.
