IMPORTANTIf a steel-cored flip-line is used in conjunction with a mechanical adjuster, some form of webbing or rope sling must be used between the harness connector (karabiner or snap-hook) and the mechanical adjuster. This is essential in case the climber needs to be rescued and the sling needs to be cut. Without this approved sling the strop will not be easy to release if it is under tension, as the positive cams in these devices lock under load.
